Why did you start dancing?
"I started dancing because my husband Gilbert and I had young kids, and we needed time together as adults. We wanted to have an activity that was just ours as a couple, so we started taking lessons at a dance studio and have loved dancing together ever since. "
What’s your favorite dance?
"That's really hard. My favorite dance depends on the music and how I'm feeling, but, generally, it's whatever dance I'm dancing."
What’s your favorite memory at DanceWise?
"My favorite memory probably comes from the shows that we do at the Madison [Center for the Arts]. I love performing in front of an audience, but I also enjoy helping each other get dressed and put on make-up, and running around in the background trying to make the best show we can. It reminds me of my high school days in theatre."
Do you have any advice for other dancers?
"My advice would be to try all the dances: you never know which ones you'll eventually end up loving. And take as many opportunities as you can to practice because the better you get, the more fun it is."
